Entering and Approving Final Grades in KSIS

 About

Faculty and staff can enter and approve final grades in KSIS using the steps below.  Alternatively, grades can be copied from an existing K-State Canvas course into KSIS as described at:

Note: If you copy your grades from K-State Canvas you must also approve the grades in KSIS in order to post the grades to the student's academic history.

 Details  

  1. Sign in to KSIS with your eID and password.
  2. From the KSIS Faculty Homepage, click Faculty Center.

  1. Click the Grade Roster icon next to the desired course.

3. In the Roster Grade column, use the drop-down to assign or confirm grades for each student.

Note: You can also assign the same grade to all students by selecting a grade from <-add this grade to all students.

4. For all students receiving a grade of  ‘F’ or ‘NC’, indicate whether the student participated in any academic related activity.

5. From Approval Status, select the stage of the grading process you are in:


 

  • Approved - See Approving Grades below.
  • Ready for Review - Grades are ready for the primary Instructor to review for accuracy and approval. Grades are no longer editable.
  • Not Reviewed -  Grades have not yet been entered or finalized for approval. Grades are editable by any instructor with grade access to the class section.
     

6. Click Save at the bottom of the page to save the grades. 

Note: You may have to scroll down to see the Save button. 

After you have entered and reviewed the grades, the last step is to approve them for posting to the students’ academic history. Any instructor with Approve access to the class section can mark the grades as approved. 

  1. On your Faculty Center page, click the Grade Roster icon next to the course whose final grades you want to approve

  2. On the Approval Status list, select  .

  3. Click Save.
