Use one of the two methods below to change which apps open different file types by default

Method One
Open Windows settings from the Start menu.
In the
Find a setting
search box, type and select
Default apps
.
In the window that appears, select
Choose default apps by file type
.
Select the desired file type and select the program you wish to associate with the file.
Note:
This course of action is best if you know a specific file type you would like opened by a specific program.
Method Two
Open File Explorer, and navigate to a file of the type you would like to specify the default program for.
Right-click on the file and select
Open with
, then in the sub-menu that appears select
Choose another app
.
In the window that appears, select the app you wish to associate with the file type and check the box for the
Always use this app to open .___ files
option, then click
OK
.
