Offerings that relate to the management of academic course materials that facilitate teaching and learning (e.g., videos, documents, spreadsheets) and that facilitate teaching and learning using online portals. Includes learning management systems including recording, storing, editing, and publishing lectures.

 Features

  • Canvas - K-State’s online teaching and learning management system (LMS) for K-State Manhattan, Salina, Olathe, and Global Campus credit courses. Canvas integrates with KSIS and other applications to extend functionality, including grade submission, open educational resources, and commercial learning tools.
  • Scantron paper testing is supported via a custom tool to convert a card reader's output to a Canvas compatible file. Scantron card readers are located in specific departments as well as in 212 Hale Library. For more information visit Canvas .
  • TEVAL student rating system and reports are facilitated by the Teaching & Learning Center  at Kansas State University. The system is fully online and integrated with Canvas and those listed as teachers and teaching assistants can manage their course TEVALs. The system will generate an email to each student in the course with a link to the actual evaluation. TEVAL reports are confidential.
  • Mediasite enables instructors to create, edit, manage, and distribute lectures and presentations for students to view in or outside of Canvas all from their web browser. Mediasite enables instructional capture and video to automatically be published in Canvas or Zoom recordings to be automatically added to Mediasite. Videos can be created from the Mediasite Mosaic app you install on your computer or in Mediasite-equipped classroom spaces.
  • One Button Studio and audio and video recording stations are available in the Sunderland Foundation Innovation Lab as a resource for lecture capture.  More information can be found in the media and audio visual service.

Requirements

  • Mediasite is a service for capturing and streaming events and lectures. It does not include other video production services.
  • To utilize the Scantron card reader a corresponding quiz must be created in K-State Online to act as the answer key and to control the release and to process the results.

  • A Scantron card reader is located in 212 Hale Library. It is available for use by K-State faculty, staff, and grad students to read Scantron exam cards. A corresponding quiz must be created in K-State Online to act as the answer key and to control the release and to process the results.
