Qualtrics is also available to graduate and undergraduate students by request.
  • Faculty and staff can access Qualtrics via kstate.qualtrics.com . The default configuration is unlimited surveys per user with the ability for 25,000 emails, thank yous, reminders, and survey responses in a seven-day rolling period.
  • In addition to the survey research tool, there are many ways that Qualtrics is used on campus including quizzing, polling, feedback for search committees, required training, and more.

Requirements

  • University Research Compliance Office at Kansas State University is committed to providing a comprehensive and compliant program, to faculty and students, for Research involving Human Subjects. The Institutional Review Board (IRB) is mandated by federal laws and regulations and is responsible for oversight of all activities involving research with human subjects. Activities using surveys designed to collect and analyze information from individuals are likely to be considered "research with human subjects" by federal oversight groups. Consequently, those surveys should be considered and approved by the IRB prior to their use. Access the K-State Institutional Review Board (IRB) application on the IRB Forms webpage.
  • Graduate and undergraduate students must work with an advisor/supervisor to request access to Qualtrics.
  • The requesting Faculty/Staff is responsible for all surveys prepared, for designating the period of access, and for completing the institutional review board application.
  • Student access is only granted for a period of use designated by the requester.
  • Before submitting an access request, Faculty/Staff must ask each student to attempt a login at survey.ksu.edu. This will create a placeholder account.
