Objective
To reformat a USB Flash Drive in Windows, refer to the instructions below.
Audience

Procedure
Click the
Start
button and then type
File Explorer
and hit the Enter key.
Right-click the drive containing your flash drive.
Click
Format…
In the File System list, select the desired
File System
and then click
Start
.
Note:
The NTFS file system can only be used with Windows, while the FAT file system can be used with both Windows and Apple.
A warning message will come up, click
OK
.
Once you receive a message that says Format Complete, click
OK
.
Note:
Reformatting your flash drive permanently deletes all files from the device.
