Uninstalling drivers in Windows

 Objective

To uninstall a driver on a Windows 10 device, follow the instructions below.

 Audience

 Environment  

  • Windows 10

 Procedure

  1. Right-click the Start Menu in the bottom-left corner.


     
  2. Click Device Manager.


     
  3. Right-click the device and click Uninstall

  4. Restart computer.

Note: Current Windows computers store a copy of device drivers. As Windows restarts, the computer recognizes new hardware and typically re-installs the driver for the hardware automatically. To uninstall the hardware entirely, you need to disconnect the hardware or stop the automatic re-installation.
