Downloading and Installing SPSS 31

 Objective

Once you have submitted a request form and received a notification that you've been granted access, you can download and install SPSS using the following steps. Please note that installing and licensing SPSS requires administrative rights on your computer. If you need assistance with administrative access on a K-State owned computer, please contact your department's IT support group.

 Procedure

  1. Visit the below OneDrive folder URL, and sign in with your K-State credentials: https://ksuemailprod.sharepoint.com/:f:/r/sites/itacclientservices/Shared%20Documents/StatisticsSoftware/SPSS?csf=1&web=1&e=NyNt6c

  2. Open the SPSS Authorization Codes.txt file, and note down the current authorization code for SPSS 31. This will be needed after the installation is complete.
     
  3. Open the SPSS 31 for Windows folder, then click the menu button next to the SPSSCLT64_3102_MWin_Multi.exe file and click Download. Allow the download to complete, then open the downloaded .exe file to start the installation.
  4. Click Next on the first screen, then accept the terms of the license agreement and click Next to begin the installation.

  5. Proceed through the installation with the default options selected. Once it completes, click Finish and leave the option to start IBM SPS Statistics selected.

  6. On the "License not valid" screen that pops up, click the button to Launch License Wizard

  7. In the Licensing Wizard, select the option for Authorized User License and click Next.

  8. On the Enter Codes screen, copy the code you noted in Step 2, and paste it into the Enter Code field then click Add. Once the code is added, click Next.

  9. Once activation is successful, click Next to complete the process. When prompted, click Restart to begin using SPSS.

  3. Open the SPSS 31 for MacOS folder, then click the menu button next to the ISSCAS0_1.0_Other_Operating_Sy.pkg file and click Download. Wait for the download to complete, then open the downloaded .pkg file to start the installation.
     
  4. Click Continue on the Introduction screen, then Continue and Agree on the License screen.
  5. Keep the default Destination, then click Install and provide the MacOS admin password when prompted

  6. Once the installation completes, browse to the Applications folder and launch SPSS Statistics. When prompted, select the option to Launch License Wizard

  7. Click Next on the License Status screen, then select the option for Authorized user license and click Next again. On the Enter Codes screen, copy the code you noted in Step 2, and paste it into the Enter Code field then click Add. Once the code is added, click Next.

     

  8. Once the activation is successful, click Next then Finish to complete the process, and when prompted click Restart to begin using SPSS.
