Ensuring that physical classrooms, specialized learning environments, and virtual learning environments are suitably equipped and functional to meet the needs of the education experience. This includes technology located in computer labs and self-service common use spaces.

 Features

  • Centrally Scheduled Classroom Technology
    • Basic technology resources are provided in most classrooms and include a projector, podium computer with DVD drive, sound system, web conferncing equipment and internet connection. Several rooms also include a laptop connection, document camera, and recording equipment or other interactive technology.
    • Centrally scheduled classrooms are managed and scheduled by the Office of the Registrar and coded in KSIS. Requests to install new technology in these classrooms will be reviewed by the Technology Classroom Planning committee. Requests to install new technology within departmental classrooms spaces will be reviewed by the department responsible for the classroom.
  • K-State has several university computer labs located across campus. Hundreds of computers are available (PCs and Macs) with a variety of software, limited free printing, and wireless printing from lab computers and personal laptops.
  • Self service, walk up technology resources such as computers and printers are available in university computing labs, found in the libraries and the K-State Union, and supported by the Division of Information Technology. 

Requirements

  • Centrally Scheduled Classroom Technology
    • K-State faculty/staff using centrally scheduled technology classrooms for the first time must attend a short training session before they can request keys for those classrooms. Once trained in one classroom, instructors are cleared for access to all other technology classrooms. Once training is completed, instructors can request keys through Facilities Key Control and Distribution in Dykstra Hall (532-6373).
    • Requests for installation of new technology within departmental classrooms spaces must include the name and phone number of the unit head.
    • Requests to install new technology in centrally scheduled classrooms will be reviewed by the Technology Classroom Planning committee to determine if funds are available.
  • Requests to install new technology in common use spaces will be reviewed by the Technology Classroom Planning committee to determine if funds are available.
