Rates

We prefer to register domains through AWS Route53. Information on available TLD’s and pricing can be found here. This cost will be passed along to the department in full. This pricing can sometimes change and is outside of our control.

 Other Information

The Division of Information Technology will pay the initial registration fee to the Domain Registrar and invoice the sponsoring department to recover costs. This fee pays for the first year of the domain(s). After the first year, the Division of Information Technology will renew the domains annually until a notice of cancellation is received and will bill the sponsoring department.

  • The sponsoring department must provide the billing contact for the domain.
  • Student organizations must use the faculty sponsor or sponsoring department as the billing contact.
  • DNS services, email services, and web-hosting services are available from the Division of Information Technology for registered domains.
  • Student organizations that register a domain must use central K-State or departmental servers to host that domain (for the website, DNS, and e-mail service, for example).
  • The Division of Information Technology will not register a domain that uses a server which has inadequate provisions for security and long-term support.
