Online Teval: Create Evaluation

 Objective

An instructor or teaching assistant on the K-State Canvas roster for the course and/or section can create an evaluation.

 Audience

  • Faculty
  • Staff

 Environment

  • Teval

 Procedure

  1. Click the green + New Teval button.

  2. Using the dropdown lists, select a course and section for the evaluation.

Note: Instructors will be able to see every section in a course they teach. TAs can only see the section(s) that they teach.

  1. Fill in the section type, meeting days and times, and your academic rank, college, and department if missing.

  2. Click the Continue button.

  3. Review the Teval Core Questions. These are given to all students and are shown for reference only.

Note: On campus and Great Plains IDEA courses will use the Core Questions and distance courses will use Distance Core Questions. The correct set is chosen by default based on the type of course.

  4. Select a departmental template if any is to be used.

Note: The available templates are Agricultural Economics, Architecture Lecture, Architecture Seminar, Architecture Studio, Mathematics, Modern Languages, and Physics. For a distance course, the Global campus template is selected and cannot be removed.

  1. Create any desired custom questions.

Note: You can also copy questions from other evaluations.

  1. Click the Continue button.

  2. Set the start and end dates for when the evaluation will be available to students.

  3. Set up to three email reminders.

  4. Click the Continue button.

  5. Review the information to make sure it is correct.

  6. Click the Finish button.

  7. Your evaluation is created and you now have the option to complete the Faculty Information Form (FIF).
