Who Has Access:

All current faculty and staff, students ENROLLED for the summer, and students with special access. (This means that a student at K-State in the spring that will return in the fall DOES NOT have access during the summer.)

Why?

The online databases that the library uses are not free. The Library or university pays copyright and usage fees to use them. During the summer, the fees are drastically less because there are not 20K students on campus that could potentially access them. Students enrolled in summer courses are placed on a white list that allows them to access the databases.

How can a student not enrolled get access?

  1. They can come to campus and use the computers in the library.

  2. They can complete the special access form with their department.

  3. Handled on a case by case basis.
