- Tracking project work for specific bodies of work like classroom technology installations
- Tracking process improvement activities
Procedure
1. While signed in to the TDNext Portal, use the app launcher to find and select Projects

2. Select the Projects tab that was just opened, select New, and then Project

3. Complete the basic information about the project:
- Project Name - Enter a unique and descriptive project title
- Project Type - IMPORTANT, for reporting accuracy, select IT Projects / Operational Project
- Acct/Dept - Find and choose the associated department of the person creating the project
- Start Date and End Date - These can be estimates or precise depending on the knowledge of the project at the time of creation
- Description - While not required, this information is important for context about the project for reporting and auditing purposes

4. Complete key information in the Advanced section
- Project Template - May be used to provide project plan templates in the project when it is created
- Sponsor - May be used to identify the person filling the sponsor role from the College, Major Unit, or Division of IT
- Portfolio(s) IMPORTANT - Select the College or Major Unit aligned with the project. This is key for accurate reporting and tracking of project work
- Priority - Standard is the default will be the choice for most new projects
- Status - New is the default. This may be updated after the project is created

5. Once all required and Portfolio(s) fields are filled, click Save to create the project.
6. To locate the new project, navigate back to the TDNext portal, select the Projects tab, and all projects being managed or you are assigned as a resource will appear
