Changing an account password in Windows

 Objective

The instructions below will allow you to change the password you use to sign in to Windows on personal devices.

Note: This process is only for changing the password on personal devices. Devices belonging to K-State require your eID and password to log in. If you wish to change that password, follow the instructions at https://support.ksu.edu/TDClient/30/Portal/KB/ArticleDet?ID=46.

 Procedure

1. Open Windows settings from the Start menu.
    
2. Select Accounts.
   
   
    
3. Select Sign-in options in the menu on the left, then select Password and click the Change button.
   
   
    
4. In the window that appears, enter your Current password and then the New password you want to change to, then click Next.
