KSIS: Grant Permission for a Student to Enroll in a Class

Summary

How to grant a student permission to enroll in a class.

Body

 Objective

In KSIS, Faculty or staff can grant permission for a student to enroll in a class following these steps:

 Audience

  • Faculty
  • Staff

 Environment

  • KSIS

 Procedure

  1. Log into KSIS with your eID and password.

  2. From the KSIS Faculty Homepage banner, click the NavBar icon, click the Navigator button and click Records and Enrollment.

  3. Point to Records and Enrollment, then click Term Processing, click Class Permissions, and click Class Permissions.

  4. Search for the appropriate class in which to grant permission.

  5. In the Class Permission Data area ID field, enter the KSIS EmplID number or search for the student to whom you are granting permission.

  6. Verify the additional student does not violate the fire code capacity for the room in question.
Note: The total of the Total Enrollment and unused permissions cannot be greater than the Capacity displayed.

  7. The default granting Permission overrides the Consent requirement and any pre-requisites enforced for the class. To disable either of these overrides for a particular student, use the Permission tab of the Class Permissions Data group.

  8. If desired add comments regarding the permission in the Comments tab of the Class Permissions Data area.

  9. Click the Save button.
