Downloading the driver
- Go to the Konica Minolta website.
- Type in the copier model in the "Quick Search" bar on the far left. Example: Bizhub C458
NOTE: The model of each copier can be found on the front of each device about halfway down. It is essential to note whether it has a "C" in the model number. For example, you may have a Bizhub 308, or it could be a C308.
- Click the Drivers tab on the right.
- Click on the bar that has your version of macOS.
NOTE: You can find your macOS version by clicking the Apple logo in the top left of your screen and selecting "About This Mac."
- Confirm that you are looking at the "Postscript" drivers.
- Click on the top driver available. It will automatically start to download.
- Once the download has completed, single or double click on the file, depending on the web browser you are using. It will begin the process of unzipping itself and open in Finder once completed.
- Navigate to the installation package within the folder.
- Double-click the install package and follow the installation prompts.
Adding the copier to your computer
- Open System Preferences and click on Printers & Scanners
- Click on the plus button in the bottom left corner.
- Click the IP tab at the top of the window.
- Type the IP address in the Address: box.
NOTE: You can find the IP address by going to the copier, putting your code in, tapping "Utility Information," and tapping "Device Information."
- Type the name of your printer into the name box.
- You will need to select the driver manually. Click the box next to Use: and click Select Software...
- A new window will open. Type "Konica" in the search box in the top right.
- From the search results, click on your copier model and then click ok.
- Click Add.
- Select the extra features installed with your copier, then click ok.
NOTE: You can make changes to these features later. Not changing any will still allow you to print to the copier. Just know that any special features such as stapling, folding, or hole punch will not be available for you to use.
Adding Account Track/Copier Codes to your print settings
- Open blank document in either Word or Pages.
- In the top left, click File and then click Print...
- Click on the printer: box and click on the copier you want to use.
- Click the drop-down menu that currently has Layout in it. Click on Output Method.
- Click the check box next to Account Track.
- Leave the Department Name blank and enter in your code into the Password field.
- Select the box next to Save Settings, then click OK.
- Click the drop-down next to Presets and Save Current Settings as Preset...
- In the Preset Name box type "Copier Code" and then click OK.
- Print the document.
Troubleshooting
If the document does not print
- Be sure you have downloaded and installed the correct driver. The most common reason for a failed print is that a black & white driver has been installed for a color copier or vis versa.
- Re-enter the copier code to ensure that you do not have a typo.
- It may be that you do not have permission to print to that copier and will need that granted by IT Service Desk. Call 532-7722, or email The Service Desk, Servicedesk@ksu.edu, to open a work request.
Printing from web browsers and other 3rd party applications
Some applications will have a different look when you go to print. A couple of popular examples are Chrome (left) and Adobe Acrobat (right.) You will need to click on the appropriate buttons (circled below) to get to the system dialog box for printing. This will bring up the settings that allow you to use the presets created for the copier.
