Mediasite Mosaic: Upgrade Mosaic Version 2.10 and Earlier for Windows

Windows users who have installed Mediasite Mosaic version 2.10 or earlier need to manually upgrade to the current version due to a change in how future automatic updates will be distributed.

 Objective

Upgrade Mediasite Mosaic for Windows from version 2.10 and earlier to the latest version.

Versions of Mediasite Mosaic for Windows prior to 2.11 were distributed using the Microsoft Store to manage automatic software updates. As of April 2024, this method is no longer supported. To continue receiving updates, remove the old version of Mediasite Mosaic and install the latest version using the instructions below.

 Procedure

  1. Verify the installed version by opening Mediasite Mosaic and selecting More Options (...) > About from the top-right corner of the application. If the version is 2.10.0 or less, proceed with the upgrade steps below.

  2. Publish any unpublished recordings you wish to keep. Any unpublished recordings will be permanently lost during the upgrade.

  3. Uninstall Mediasite Mosaic using the Add or Remove Programs in Windows.

  4. Download the latest version of Mediasite Mosaic for Windows using this link.

  5. Run the downloaded installer and follow the on-screen instructions to complete the installation.

  6. Navigate to the My Mediasite web portal to test the operation of the new Mediasite Mosaic application.

  7. Select Add Presentation from the left navigation column.

  8. Select With App to launch Mediasite Mosaic.

  9. Record a sample presentation and ensure it publishes properly to the Mediasite platform.

 

 Notes

  • Publish any unpublished recordings before upgrading Mediasite Mosaic. Any unpublished recordings will be permanently lost during the upgrade.
  • Version 2.11 and later of Mediasite Mosaic for Windows will automatically check for updates anytime the application is opened.
