Running a DARS Audit for a Non-Advisee in KSIS

 Objective

Advisors using the KSU advisor center can run DARS audit for non-Advisee by following this guide:

The KSU Advisor Center allows advisors to run a DARS report as a Bulk Operation (multiple advisees) and on demand for an individual advisee.  The audits are generated as a PDF and appear in a new window or additional tab.

Note You must have the pop-up blocker on your web browser disabled for KSIS in order to view DARS Audit Reports.  Refer to How to disable web browser pop-up blockers for assistance.

 Procedure

To run a DARS audit for a non-advisee use the Run DARS Now option:

  1. Log in to KSIS with your K-State eID and password.
  2. Click the KSU Advisor Center tile.
  3. The My Advisees list is displayed.
  4. To select a non-advisee student, click Student Lookup above the advisee list grid.

  5. Enter the student information click Search.
  6. Click the desired student's name or ID from the Search Results if multiple students are displayed.  If only one student matches the search criteria, their Summary screen is displayed. 
  7. Once the student's Summary screen is shown, click the *Go to drop-down and click DARS. This opens the DARS submission screen in a new tab or window.

  8. Select the desired plan for your advisee and click Submit Report.

    Note: To check which classes are necessary for a different major, run an Explore New Program audit.
     
  9. Click OK on the pop up message.
  10. Click Refresh until Status says COMPLETED, then click View Audit

  11. The DARS audit should open in the browser window.
  12. Maximize the window to view the audit in a full screen.

SYSTEM GENERATED AUDITS ARE AVAILABLE FOR ALL CURRENTLY ENROLLED STUDENTS AND SHOULD NEVER BE MORE THAN ONE WEEK OLD.  SYSTEM GENERATED AUDITS WILL HAVE System IN THE Run By FIELD OF THE AUDIT RESULTS.
