 Procedure

To reformat a Flash Drive on a MacBook, follow the instructions below:

  1. Click the Finder  icon.
     
  2. Click Applications and then double-click the Utilities folder.


     
  3. Double-click Disk Utility.


     
  4. Select the flash drive.
     
  5. Click on the Erase button.


     
  6. Type the new Name for the flash drive.
     
  7. In the Format list, select the file format to use.
     
  8. Click Erase.



    Note: The NTFS file system can only be used with Windows, while the FAT file system can be used with both Windows and Apple.
