Checking network preferences on your Mac

 Objective

View information and modify it if necessary about the wireless networks your computer can connect to.

 Procedure

You can access network preferences from the Wi-Fi icon or System Preferences. 

Wi-Fi icon

1. Right-click the Wi-Fi icon. 
   
   
    
2. Select Open Network Preferences.
3. Select the type of network connection (Wireless, Ethernet, etc...) to view.
4. Click Advanced to view that connection's TCP/IP and configuration settings.

System Preferences

1. Click the Apple icon.
2. Select System Preferences.
3. Click Network.
   
    
    
4. Select the desired network connection (Wireless, Ethernet, etc...) to view.
5. Click Advanced to view that connection's TCP/IP and configuration settings.
