Requesting an Adobe Software License

Details how to obtain an Adobe Creative Cloud Suite (CC) or Acrobat Pro software license.

 Procedure

​​​​​​Requesting a license

  1. Open the Request Software and Application Distribution form.
  2. In the Which software do you need to add/change/remove a license list, select Adobe (Creative Cloud or Acrobat Pro).
  3. In the Which type of license do you want list, select the desired software.
  4. In the What do you need to do?​​​​​​​ list, select the type of license you want to add.  
  5. Fill out the rest of the details of the request. 
  6. Click Request.

    Notes: 
    • An invoice will be issued upon receipt of the completed request form.
    • Within seven days of receipt of payment (KSU Interfund Voucher or KSU Foundation check), you will receive an email you will receive an email with Adobe access instructions..
    • The K-State license is renewed annually July 31. The Division of Information Technology will email departments instructions on how to review and reorder licenses in July. Upon completion of that process, a renewal invoice will be sent in July or August.
    • Creative Cloud Suite allows faculty and staff to select which applications they wish to install directly through the Adobe Creative Cloud desktop application.

Removing or transferring a named license

  1. Open the Request Software and Application Distribution form.
  2. In the Which software do you need to add/change/remove a license list, select the software you want to transfer or remove. 
  3. In the Which type of license do you want list, select the desired software you want to remove or transfer.
  4. In the What do you need to do?​​​​​​​ list, select the type of license you want to remove or transfer.  
  5. Fill out the rest. of the details of the request. 
  6. Click Request.

    Note: You can also change a device license to a user license,

 Notes

Adobe offers Shared Device Licenses for labs, classrooms, and other shared multi-user machines, and Named-user Licenses for educators and staff using their University and personal devices. Some key differences between the two license types are as follows:

Intended usage scenario Lab computers, kiosks, and other shared multi-user machines only. Educators and staff members using their University and personal devices.
Number of computers licensed per seat/user 1 computer. 2 computers for the licensed user.
Desktop app availability All desktop apps included in one large package (takes up ~25 GB of disk space). Needs to be installed by IT support. Users can select, install, and update only the needed apps any time using self-serve portal.
Mobile app availability Not included. Adobe iOS and Android apps included with named license
