Using a Duo hardware token for authentication

 Objective

With Duo two-factor authentication, there are three options for authentication. The easiest way to authenticate is using the Duo Mobile app on your smartphone, iPad, or tablet. Hardware tokens can also be used for authentication.

Tokens can be purchased for $15 at the ID Center in the K-State Student Union (Manhattan), Polytechnic ID Center (Salina), and IT Support (Olathe).

Note: Tokens can get out of sync if the button is pressed too many times in a row and the generated passcodes are not used to login. Contact the IT Help Desk at 785-532-7722 if your token stops working.

 Procedure

1. Sign in to any K-State authenticated tool.
2. At the DUO screen, click Enter a Passcode.
   
   
   
   
3. Press the button on your hardware token to generate a passcode.
   
4. In the Passcode box, type the passcode.
   
   
   
   
5. Click Log In.
